INTERNI Events 1998/2016
In the perspective of operating in the city to offer a design event, in experimental, temporary form, to all the citizens and guests of the variegated design scene that invades Milan for one week every April, INTERNI has always worked to bring design into the streets, sometimes with object-installations, or in the form of light, or more often than not in works of micro-architecture, installations that generate an encounter between design and architecture, in a game of complex, balanced connections between the two disciplines that, as in reality, seem to join forces in a wider ranging interdisciplinary approach to expression.

Bringing design culture, in the widest sense of the term, into the streets, squares and above all the historic places of the city – the squares of the historical center with “Interni in Piazza” (2002), the gates of the city with “Heavy Light” (2006), the Sforzesco Castle with “Decode Elements” (2007), the State University with “Green Energy Design” (2008), “INTERNI Design Energies” (2009), “INTERNI Think Tank” (2010) and “INTERNI Mutant Architecture&Design” (2011) “INTERNI Legacy” (2012) “INTERNI Hybrid Architecture&Design” (2013) – means not only triggering a relationship between monumental sites and contemporary intervention, but also underlining the value of works and places we may see every day but perhaps fail to grasp in the right dimension, seeing their potential and importance as historical documents that can come alive, not like fossils or immobile relics, but as precious materials that can also be utilized for experiments connected with design culture and its possible actions, places that offer and suggest contributions for the revitalization of new settings in the urban landscape.
